Reporting to the Project Manager, the Planning Engineer is accountable for the integration of Suncable's major projects through development and implementation phases.
The scope for the Planning Engineer covers:
* Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
* Project Schedule and integration
* Monitoring and forecasting project cost performance
* Project Reporting
* Project Assurance
* Project WBS: together with the project teams, develop the WBS structure consistently across SunCable’s projects and organize and track progress against key milestones.
* Project Schedule: plan and establish the project schedule baseline level 1 for the business units.
* Manage Basis of Schedule through the Development Phase of projects until Financial Close.
* Effectively and proactively engage and integrate the overall project schedule with input from all Suncable sub-projects.
* Project cost performance: monitor and control the project’s cost performance in accordance with monitoring requirements.
* Project Reporting: maintain current reports for both cost and schedule performance reporting; investigate and develop improved reporting formats.
* Project Assurance: co-ordinate and represent the project for assurance and reporting, including regular project meetings, where required.
* Working with key support functions (procurement, finance/accounts, contracts & legal) to ensure “end to end” processes are effectively managed.
* Work closely with technical and engineering, access & approvals, stakeholder engagement, commercial and legal teams.
Experience
* Deep experience in Project planning and controls, ideally gained in complex manufacturing/industrial, renewable energy, oil & gas, construction or infrastructure projects.
* Demonstrate knowledge of Project Performance Measurement using Earned Value Management.
* Experience using and applying the fundamentals of Project Planning, ideally in a complex project environment.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in using project management software e.g., P6.
* Experience in controlling projects through the different project phases.
* Experience supporting a project decision-making process including framing of options and recommendations.
* Experience in preparing schedules for investment decisions including basis of schedules.
* Experience or involvement in negotiation of contracts including claim management.
