THE FLINDERS GOLF CLUB INCORPORATED Trading As THE FLINDERS GOLF CLUB We are currently seeking a passionate, reliable, and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
This role is ideal for a motivated chef who enjoys preparing quality meals, contributing to menu development, maintaining high kitchen standards, and working in a professional hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a positive team culture within the Club. Benefits Competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Task & responsibilities Menu Development and Food Preparation: Design and update seasonal menus using fresh and locally sourced ingredients Oversee food preparation and maintain consistently high-quality standards in taste and presentation Kitchen Operations Management: Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and smooth service Monitor food and labour costs while implementing waste-reduction strategies Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations Team Leadership and Training: Lead and mentor kitchen staff to maintain a productive and motivated team Schedule rosters and ensure adequate staffing for peak service periods Train staff in food preparation, presentation, and safe kitchen practices Quality Control and Customer Engagement: Conduct regular quality checks on dishes to ensure consistency Actively seek and respond to customer feedback to improve menu and service Inventory and Supplier Relations: Manage stock control and supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet operational demands Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on industry trends and customer preferences Bring new ideas to enhance the dining experience and increase customer satisfaction Qualification & experience Qualifications Required: Diploma or Certificate iv in Commercial cookery or a related field is preferred. Work Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef role. Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing a kitchen team effectively.
Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments are highly desirable.
