Where you'll be working
Ward 8B has a strong focus on multidisciplinary team work, with cross‑referrals between physicians and surgeons and daily team meetings. The ward is supported by enthusiastic nursing staff, allied health professionals, Clinical Nurse Consultants for Stomal Therapy and Total Parenteral Nutrition, and a Ward‑Based Clinical Nurse Educator. Senior staff include Clinical Nurse Specialists. Staff receive a supportive environment, structured orientation and preceptorship, and a Stomal Therapy Certificate course through NSW College of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual patients and the broader health care team to achieve quality patient care outcomes.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse – Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current experience in an acute hospital environment.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
