The GP Liaison Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital has an opportunity for a Senior Medical Officer - Clinical Editor HealthPathways on a casual basis for 20 hours per week.

Your Opportunity
Provide clinical specialist General Practitioner support to the HealthPathways service, contributing to a culture of medical education and safe, patient-centred practice. This casual position can be worked from home, allowing flexible hours that suit the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Mackay HealthPathways team and work groups to identify priorities for pathways localisation or development.
Collaborate effectively with practitioners across relevant clinical streams, including Medical, Nursing, Allied Health and Indigenous Health Workers to ensure pathways include evidence-based, multidisciplinary best practice.
Consult with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural experts to ensure culturally appropriate content.
Gather and check clinical information about local practice, including assessment, management and referral of clinical conditions.
Localise pathways efficiently by making only the minimum changes necessary to reflect local practice.
Ensure all clinical information provided is complete, accurate and unambiguous.
Ensure the wording, format and structure of clinical content meets the standards set out in the HealthPathways Style Manual.
Identify subject-matter experts and consult with them when localising or developing pathways.
Seek review and feedback from other stakeholders in the health system when localising or developing pathways.
Communicate effectively with technical writers at Streamliners via phone, email and other channels.
Champion the expectations and standards required to make Mackay HealthPathways useful to practitioners in the Mackay/Isaac/Whitsundays region.
Influence general practice colleagues, senior clinicians, subject-matter experts and managers throughout the health system.
Champion HealthPathways to clinical colleagues.
