The Position Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role offers ownership of the finance function for a key operating entity within a larger Australian group. Working closely with the General Manager and operational stakeholders, you will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting and commercial support, whilst leading a small team of an Accounts Payable Officer and an Accounts Receivable Officer. Acting as a trusted business partner to the General Manager and operational leaders, you will provide financial insight, ensure strong governance and compliance, and drive continuous improvement across financial processes and reporting. Key responsibilities include: Managing monthly financial reporting, variance analysis and commentary Preparing annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes Managing statutory compliance including BAS, FBT and annual financial statements Coordinating audit requirements and supporting tax compliance activities Reviewing payroll processes through an external provider Maintaining strong financial controls across order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes Providing commercial analysis and financial support to operational stakeholders Leading and developing a small finance team The Person You are a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment while partnering closely with business leaders. You will be comfortable taking ownership of a finance function and possess the communication skills to influence stakeholders outside of finance. To be successful, you will demonstrate: CA or CPA qualification Proven experience within a Senior Financial Accountant, Finance Manager or similar role Strong financial reporting, compliance and statutory accounting expertise Experience managing budgets, forecasts and cash flow Advanced Excel capability and exposure to ERP systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Previous leadership or mentoring experience The ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders The Benefits This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and highly regarded organisation where your contribution will be visible and valued.
