Job Description
Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the Road Maintenance works, repair, and construction of haul roads and access roads across the mining site. This role ensures road networks are safe, compliant, and maintained to operational standards to support efficient mining activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise a team of operators (graders, water carts, loaders, etc.).
* Supervise daily road maintenance activities across site haul roads and access roads.
* Coordinate grading, watering, dust suppression, drainage works, and road repairs.
* Monitor road conditions and identify hazards or defects requiring immediate attention.
* Ensure compliance with site safety standards, procedures, and mining regulations.
* Plan and allocate resources, equipment, and manpower effectively.
* Conduct pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment usage.
* Liaise with Client, Dispatch team, and Maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
* Ensure proper signage, berm heights, drainage systems, and road widths are maintained as per site standards.
* Investigate incidents related to road conditions and implement corrective actions.
* Monitor and control dust management practices.
* Understanding and meeting work schedule expectations within the Contract.
* Ensuring work is completed to Contract specification and deadlines are consistently met.
* Ensuring resources are used effectively, efficiently, and safely.
* Support site superintendent and Project manager with reporting and asset management.
Desired Skills and ExperienceKey Criteria:
Must hold a Section 26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate (minimum requirement).
Supervisor Leadership Training - Section 44, Other
OHS Construction Industry Card (White Card/Blue Card)
Required experience in machinery and road works small plant, eg Roller, Watercart, grader, Small Excavators etc.
Minimum 10 years' experience within mining, civil, or bulk earthworks environments, including at least 2 years supervising a plant operator crew.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of up to 10 plant operators effectively.
Strong knowledge of civil, mining, and construction operations, including plant, equipment, and workforce coordination.
Sound understanding of HR/IR obligations, Fair Work regulations, and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) principles.
Strong leadership capability with the ability to effectively manage, support, and mentor crews from diverse cultural backgrounds.
