Childcare Educational Leader & Assistant Director
Status: Permanent Full-Time or Part-time (4 days per week)
Are you a passionate Senior Educator ready to step into leadership? At Little Bright Explorers Como, we don't just offer a job; we offer a career path. We are looking for a dynamic Assistant Manager & Educational Leader to join our boutique family and help us set the high standard for early childhood education.
The Role: A Dynamic Weekly Balance
We believe leadership works best when it is structured and supported. Your week is designed to give you the time you need to lead effectively:
Monday – Thursday: A perfect split of 15 hours as Educational Leader (off-floor pedagogical planning and mentoring) and 15 hours supporting on the floor (modeling best practices and building relationships).
Friday: 2IC Leadership Day. You will take the lead and manage the service in the absence of the Centre Director, giving you full operational autonomy.
Expert Coaching: Never been an Educational Leader before? Don't let that stop you. Our experienced Centre Manager/EL will provide dedicated coaching and one-on-one mentorship to help you master the role.
Collaborative Team: Work alongside a highly supportive team, including two dedicated Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs). You'll have high-level peers to brainstorm and innovate with every day.
Pedagogical Powerhouse: Lead our educational program, mentoring educators to create deeply engaging, child-led learning experiences that exceed NQS standards.
Your Future: Unlimited Growth Potential
We are a growing boutique group, and we promote from within. As we expand, this role is a gateway to:
Transitioning to Centre Manager.
Why You'll Love the Como Family
Boutique & Intimate: Our small scale allows for genuine, deep relationships—no "big box" childcare vibes here.
Work-Life Harmony: two-week Christmas closure.
Stable & Local: Family-owned and values-driven. We provide a stable environment where your voice is truly heard.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or Bachelor of Education).
Expertise: A deep, working knowledge of the EYLF, MTOP, and NQS.
Leadership Style: You lead with empathy and a "hands-on" approach—modeling best practices and helping others shine.
Compliance: Valid WA WWCC, National Police Clearance, and current First Aid/Asthma/Anaphylaxis training.
Your application will include the following questions:
* Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
* How many years' experience do you have as an Educational Leader?
* Have you completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care?
* Do you have a current Working With Children (WWC) Check?
* Do you have a current Police Check (National Police Certificate) for employment?
* Which of the following First Aid accreditations do you currently hold?
* Have you worked in a role which requires a sound understanding of the early years learning framework?
