The Medical Affairs field based position is internally referred to as the Medical Patient Journey Partner (M-PJP). This is a local customer facing role unlocking value along the patient journey - from mostly offering world-class medicines towards integrated solutions, much more partnering, innovating and leading generative disruption.
The M-PJP is a medical affairs role with a reporting line culminating with the Country Medical Director; this role has a Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) focus and operates at all times with non-promotional intent.
The M-PJP will be directly accountable to deliver better outcomes for patients, the ecosystem and the organisation, faster (the “triple win”).
What you will be working on :
Scientific Leadership : Serve as a scientific expert for the company’s neuroscience pipeline and marketed products, providing deep expertise to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinical investigators, and academic researchers within the neuroscience field.
Education & Training : Provide scientific education and training to healthcare professionals, internal teams, and partners, ensuring accurate, up-to-date information about our products.
Clinical Support : Support clinical trial development by providing scientific insights and collaborating with clinical teams on ongoing and upcoming clinical trials.
Data Communication : Effectively communicate complex scientific data, including clinical trial results, in a clear, concise manner to a wide range of audiences.
Field Intelligence : Gather and analyze scientific and clinical insights from the field, and provide feedback to shape product strategy, development, and commercialization efforts.
Compliance & Documentation : Ensure all interactions comply with industry regulations and ethical standards. Maintain accurate documentation of scientific activities.
Who you are :
As a driven medical affairs professional, you think from an enterprise level, beyond boundaries and borders, in order to bring best possible outcomes to both the local health environment, and more broadly, across Roche globally. You have :
University degree (life sciences) and / or Healthcare professional qualification with practical understanding of digital innovation methodologies. An advanced degree in Life Sciences and / or MBA is a plus.
At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the medical affairs or related field (e.g. MSL) within in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with up to date knowledge of Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.
Scientific and Therapy Area expertise in Neuroscience in mapping patient journeys and related treatments in the assigned TA, enabling engagement at the specialist level.
Robust strategic understanding and experience in tactical implementation of health solutions, including an understanding of clinical research.
Learning agility, networking and Wisdom Exchange.
Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and empathy.
With strong business acumen, you demonstrate expertise in commercialization, medical and customer experience. You are excellent in stakeholder engagement including partnering with therapeutic area experts (TAEs) and organisations.
Please note this role is advertised as an 18 months Max Term Contract.
This Sydney (NSW) Field-based Medical role is expected to cover NSW & QLD. Valid driving licence and full eligibility to live and work in Australia is necessary as visa / relocation support is not available for this position.
