About the role This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all commercial aspects of the Property and Asset Services contract within South Australia. This role involves strategic planning, contract management, and ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Your key responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing commercial strategies to support the defence base services portfolio. Overseeing the negotiation, execution, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Managing budgets, financial reporting, and cost control measures to ensure financial sustainability and efficiency. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including defence personnel, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Identifying and mitigating commercial risks associated with the provision of defence base services. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of service providers to ensure they meet contractual obligations and performance standards. Leading and mentoring a team of commercial professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Overseeing the delivery of projects related to defence base services, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. About you Our ideal candidate will have: Ideally 5 years of experience in commercial management, contract administration, or a related field, preferably within the defence or government sector. Strong understanding of defence base services, or contract law, procurement processes, and financial management. Proficiency in contract management software, financial analysis tools, and project management software. Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements in the defence sector is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's Degree or Professional Certification (e.g., CPM, CIPS) is highly desirable. Valid driver's licence. You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
