Make a Real Impact – Join Us as a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner
Are you passionate about empowering women and children to reclaim their safety and independence? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team and provide life-changing support to those escaping family violence.
As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you'll play a vital role in delivering trauma-informed, holistic case management across crisis accommodation, refuge, and outreach settings. Every day, you'll make a difference by helping women and children find safety, rebuild their lives, and move towards a future free from violence.
In this dynamic and deeply rewarding role, you will:
* Lead specialist family violence risk assessments within the MARAM framework and provide tailored, client-led support.
* Design and deliver holistic support plans that address safety, well-being, housing, financial independence, social connection, and employment pathways.
* Collaborate with a wide range of services and community partners to ensure wraparound care and advocacy for clients.
* Offer expert secondary consultations to support sector professionals working with women and children affected by family violence.
* Champion inclusive, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches in all aspects of support.

This is a Permanent Part-Time (30.4 hours per week - 0.8 EFT) opportunity based in Melton within our Community Services program. The position reports to the Team Leader, Family Violence.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Tertiary qualification and experience in social work, or a related field in line with mandatory minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioners.
* Commitment to McAuley values; Community, Hospitality, Compassion and Justice.
* Demonstrated experience supporting women and children facing a range of complex challenges in relation to family violence, homelessness, health and mental health, drug and alcohol use, trauma, and marginalisation.
* Understanding of critical issues relevant to responding to family violence including an understanding of the MARAM framework, Family Violence Protection ACT (2008), and Child Safe Standards.

You must have a:
* Valid and current Driver's Licence;
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
