We are seeking a Librarian to join our professional, creative, and dedicated University Library team. As a Librarian you will have the opportunity to develop innovative ways to provide resources, services and facilities, to support teaching, learning and research. You will also work collaboratively with other Librarians and Learning Success Advisors to support online services and participate in projects.
This position is a Full time, fixed term contract until 27 March 2026, with a salary range between $96,323 - $102,186 (G06) per annum.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Provide an information service to clients using appropriate technologies.
* Report on the potential of new services and emerging technologies to meet client needs.
* Lead, plan, deliver and evaluate skills programs and materials to support the development of graduate capabilities by Curtin students.
* Partner with academic and other Curtin staff to support teaching and learning activities.
* Understand the scholarly information landscape, including provision of access to resources and support for open access.
* Train, co-ordinate and supervise staff as required.
* Lead or contribute to Library initiatives, team planning, working parties and teams.
* Streamline workflows to ensure ongoing efficiencies as a continuous improvement outcome.
* Effectively communicate and promote Library services.
We are looking for (selection criteria):
* Completion of a professional qualification in librarianship recognised for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, combined with relevant work experience.
* Demonstrated information management skills including a thorough understanding of the application of new and emerging technologies relevant to the delivery of access to scholarly information resources.
* Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of diverse groups and individuals.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well within a team situation and the ability to co-ordinate team activities or project work.
* Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a changing environment, manage time, and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated experience in providing high quality, client-focussed services.
* An innovative approach to problem-solving.
* Demonstrated experience in the day-to-day supervision of a small team (desirable).
* Experience as a teacher or trainer (desirable).
Role Requirements:
1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
