Term 1, 2026 START with EdConnect Learning Support at Devonport High School
Volunteers are required to complete all mandatory checks and training prior to commencement. This initially involves a face-to-face interview with EdConnect's Liaison Officer, followed by reference checks. The next step is attendance at a training day where EdConnect ready the volunteer to enter a school setting. The training answers question relating to the position as well as the support networks in place to help the volunteer in being a positive life changing support to young people.
As a volunteer in the school, each day will look different dependent on the teachers direction as the needs for the young people are determined. This will always be with the teachers guidance and will focus on literacy support for the student or students in a classroom setting.
EdConnect value our volunteers and respect the time that they give freely to help meet the needs of Young People. EdConnect are committed to supporting and enhancing the volunteers experience so that a long-term ongoing relationship can be established, and the volunteer can see the benefits of their time given.
