We’re looking for a visionary leader to take on a unique and vital role—shaping the future of youth housing across Australia.This national position provides strategic leadership and expert guidance across The Salvation Army’s Social Mission stream and Salvation Army Housing (SAH), with a powerful initial focus on youth housing.You’ll champion the voices of young people, guide best-practice service delivery, and drive innovative housing solutions that change lives.This is a full-time, permanent position available in any major metropolitan city across Australia. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 7.How you will make an impactShape and implement national youth housing frameworks that are compassionate, evidence-based, and sustainable.Identify urgent needs across communities and respond with coordinated, strategic housing solutions.Guide a community of practice—bringing together voices, wisdom, and lived experience from across Australia.Deliver national consistency in youth accommodation services, governance, and quality assurance.Be a trusted advisor to General Managers and the SAH CEO, sharing your expertise in policy, operations, and sector innovation.What you will bringA tertiary qualification in Business Management, Social Work, Welfare, Community Development, or a related field.Proven experience managing senior staff, as well as leading complex projects and preparing competitive tenders or service delivery models.A working knowledge of social and community service programs, especially in youth services.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and their families from all walks of life.A values-driven mindset that aligns with integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity.A flexible, adaptive approach—ready to respond to emerging needs in a fast-changing sector.A genuine passion for ensuring young people feel heard, seen, and supported.What we offerThe Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.Flexible working arrangements.Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness PassportOngoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency.Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts.This is more than a leadership opportunity.
