**About the Position**
As a Case Manager with Samaritans you will develop and implement case plans for children and young people in care, working closely with young people, carers and their families to implement the goals and were suitable progress to permanency. This will be achieved through regular family and carer contact, remaining non-judgmental and empathetic and providing enhanced strategies for positive parenting.

**The Essentials**
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Welfare, Psychology, Education or any other relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant transferrable experience
- Demonstrated ability to use a holistic based approach in implementing and overseeing case management, case plans that incorporate appropriate models of intervention, create opportunities, empower and promote the wellbeing of the child /young people through engagement of families
- Strong interpersonal skills that provide the basis for effective negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution practices and outcomes
- A non-judgemental and empathetic approach to engaging and working with children and young people and their families
- Sound professional knowledge and theory base particularly in the areas of trauma, attachment and therapeutic care
- Highly developed case management documentation skills
- Proven ability to develop rapport with carers, child /young people and their families/significant others in order to support informed decision-making and skills development for living within the community
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain confidentiality and accountability, including records of children and young people and their families, team and organisational discussions
- The ability to effectively develop and maintain positive working relationships and networks with other Government and Non-Government agencies/services
- Demonstrated ability to participate positively in teamwork, training and supervision processes
- Demonstrated understanding of the relevant Government legislation applicable to the Permanency Program
The successful applicant must also possess a current NSW Working with Children Check, a current Provide First Aid certificate with CPR less than 12 months old, NDIS Worker Check, and hold a current/ valid NSW Drivers Licence.
