About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will be required to case manage patients and families waiting for renal transplant ensuring patients are well informed / ready for surgery, liaising with multiple medical, nursing, allied health and GP teams to facilitate patient care.
- Develops, implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice.
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty‐related education programs.
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.
Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full‐time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full‐time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team workplace.
- Extensive understanding of specialty disorders and their current management.
