The Kitchen Hand supports the team in delivering ongoing maintenance, cleaning and sanitisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas and provides basic food preparation tasks and duties.
As a kitchen hand you will be required to maintain hygienic food safety practices in the kitchen and ensure that it is a clean and safe working environment for yourself and the team.What key responsibilities does this role have?
Communicates with floor and kitchen staff to ensure fluid operations.Follows hygienic food handling practices.Adhere to the cleaning and waste disposal procedures.Using safe work practices and encouraging others to do the same.Wash and sort plates, cups, cutlery, and cooking equipment.Follow the directions of supervising chefs.Assist in some food preparation as directed by the chef in charge.Keep all work areas, cool room, storeroom, and back areas clean and organised.Receive, sort and store produce and supplies deliveries as required.Experience in back-of-house kitchen environment (preferred but not essential)Understanding and/or experience in fast-paced operationsAble to work efficiently and take on tasks proactively.Knowledge of Club/Hospitality environment and kitchen safety procedures.Team player with a can-do attitude.Available to be rostered days, nights and weekends.Punctual and reliableGood communication and passionate about delivering a great service.Working for one of the largest and most respected employers in the ShoalhavenA supportive and people-first workplaceRewards & recognition programUniform providedRole Type
