About the Senior Software Engineer (Java/Kotlin) Role
We are heavily invested in cloud technologies and using asynchronous, reactive and microservice architectures.
This role is a Fixed‑term One‑Year contract
What You'll Do
* Refine and deliver product requirements with minimal support
* Work with a cross‑functional distributed team in an agile methodology
* Participate in release and sprint planning
* Write clean, well‑organised code, while making appropriate trade‑offs between performance, robustness and extensibility
* Support production systems on a shared roster basis
* Work closely with other developers, pair‑programming, reviewing pull requests and contributing incremental improvements to code and coding practices
* Mentor and support junior developers
* Able to understand and write infrastructure as code
What You Have
* Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in Java/JVM technologies, preferably Spring Boot
* Understand microservice architectures and RESTful APIs
* AWS experience with EC2, Kinesis, SQS, Lambda, S3
* Competent with relational databases (MySQL, Aurora) and key/value store databases (Cassandra, Redis)
* Understand code testability, build pipelines, Docker, CI/CD systems
* Keep up with best practices, technologies and programming languages/frameworks
* Work with product and other teams to deliver high‑quality software

This job is located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and offers a salary range of A$220,000.00–A$230,000.00.
