The Role
Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the position of Occupational Hygienist to be employed on a permanent full‐time basis. Reporting to the Senior Occupational Hygienist, you will be part of the Occupational Hygiene team, managing a diverse and technically challenging range of occupational hygiene issues. The role provides an opportunity to gain experience in underground and open‐cut metalliferous mining, processing, smelting and associated operations.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the development and facilitation of monitoring programs
* Organising, supervising and/or conducting workplace exposure assessments
* Compliance reporting
* Assisting with product stewardship
* Providing advice to operational management on controls and improvement opportunities
The successful applicants will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene.
* Post‐graduate qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, RSO qualifications, asbestos survey certification, and AIOH Certified Occupational Hygiene (COH) membership, or CIH will be highly regarded.
* The ability to liaise and communicate effectively across multiple levels of the workforce, management, regulatory bodies, medical and health providers.
* Demonstrated experience in occupational hygiene principles, practice and application.
* Familiarisation with OHS systems, hazard identification and risk assessments.
