About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Rates & Revenue Officer to join our Strategic Finance Business Unit within the Corporate and System Services Directorate.
Reporting to the Ratepayer Experience Coordinator, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate property ownership and service address records, providing responsive customer service, and supporting the effective management and recovery of rates and sundry debtor accounts. You'll also contribute to the delivery of high-quality service outcomes that support the City's financial sustainability.
About You
We're seeking a detail-oriented professional with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, who thrives in a team environment and is committed to delivering positive outcomes for the community.
Besides demonstrated experience, you'll bring:
- Certificate or tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or a related field.
- Experience with computerised financial systems, ideally Technology One.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, account reconciliation and journal processing.
- Knowledge of Local Government Acts/Local Laws relating to rating functions (desirable).
- Highly developed communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Salary 
Level 3/4, Step 1 – Step 4 (starting from $77,467.20 to $91,017.33 under the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience).
