Overview
Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is Australia's leading provider of integrated financial services with global offices across North America, Europe, Asia and New Zealand. Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing CBA's relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for developing and executing the IB&M Strategy and delivering on strategic projects.
Do work that matters: This role sits within our Americas COO function and supports the effective operation of our New York branch.
Responsibilities
* Committees and governance: Supporting the effective management of New York office committees, including agenda planning, preparation of materials, tracking actions, and maintaining committee charters.
* Supplier governance: Working with internal stakeholders to support oversight of vendor relationships and help ensure requirements and controls are met.
* Business continuity and resilience: Assisting with coordination of business continuity requirements to help ensure the branch operates effectively, including during periods of disruption or stress.
* Audit and regulatory engagement: Supporting coordination of internal audits and regulatory examinations, including preparing materials, attending meetings where required, and assisting with responses to information requests.
* Reporting: Contributing to the preparation of key management and board reporting, including the monthly Group Executive Agenda and the U.S. Operations Board Report.
Qualifications
* Early-career experience (around 1–3 years) in Banking and Capital Markets in the U.S., with exposure to areas such as project management, risk, audit or governance.
* Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* High confidence using common business tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* A thoughtful approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail.
* The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-moving environment.
* A degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
Salary and application
The salary range for this role is from $110,000 to $150,000. The salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
