About the role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice-President, the Executive Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) provides strategic financial leadership across Monash’s global operations. Leading a team of more than 70 finance professionals, you will enhance financial planning, reporting, analysis and performance frameworks; develop the University’s long-term financial model; and embed best practice across budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning,research revenue reporting and analysis. This role will lead FP&A transformation, improving forecast accuracy, leveraging analytics and data insights, and building a culture of informed, insight-led decision-making. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, and executive leadership, you will influence strategic decisions, ensuring that financial intelligence and advice underpin the University’s continued success and global growth.


About you

You are a commercially astute finance leader with deep experience in large, complex or multinational organisations, ideally spanning research, innovation, or service-based sectors. With a proven record of building and leading best-practice FP&A and business partnering functions, you bring expertise in financial strategy, performance management and transformation, and thrive in dynamic, change-oriented environments. A strategic thinker and collaborative leader, you combine analytical rigour with exceptional communication and influencing skills. You are adept at translating complex information into clear insights, building trusted partnerships, and developing high-performing teams that deliver measurable impact. Energised by purpose, you are motivated by the opportunity to apply global best practice within a world-class university, contributing to research and innovation that changes lives. Postgraduate qualifications in business, finance or a related discipline are essential.
