Overview
GHD is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Engineering Geologist to join our Newcastle or Tuggerah team in New South Wales, Australia. The role involves a balance of technical work, project management, leadership and client-facing problem solving, delivering milestone projects from the Hawkesbury River and Orange up to the Queensland border.
Responsibilities
* Lead an extensive range of geotechnical projects across the Northern NSW region, with opportunity to deliver nationally and internationally.
* Interpretation and assessment of data to develop and implement practical and commercial solutions.
* Conduct or direct geotechnical analyses in areas such as slope stability and remediation, footings, foundation treatments, ground retention, and pavement thickness design.
* Prepare and review proposals and technical reports.
* Interact with clients through pursuit, tendering and delivery phases of projects, with opportunities to address business development tasks.
* Provide technical mentoring for junior team members.
What you will bring
* Relevant qualifications in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology, with post-graduate study advantageous.
* At least 8 years' experience in geotechnical consulting and infrastructure projects.
* Strong skills in investigation, interpretation, design, and delivery of geotechnical solutions.
* Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, prioritise tasks, and manage projects independently.
* Excellent client collaboration, project management, and analytical skills using standard industry methods.
