About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident Lead Educator to lead our Pre Kindy room (3–4 years), caring for up to 22 children each day.
You will work alongside two permanent educators in the room and be supported by our Educational Leader and management team. This role focuses on preparing children for Kindergarten and supporting our families in their day-to-day interactions and communication.
The position includes occasional backfill support within our funded Kindergarten program.
Full Time is preferred. Part Time may be considered for the right candidate with consistent working days.

The Mike Reynolds Early Childhood Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit long day care service located in beautiful tropical Townsville, North Queensland.
Established in 1993, our Centre includes a purpose-built Kindergarten and caters for up to 69 children each day. We are managed by a parent committee and Director and are proud of our strong community culture and commitment to providing quality care and education for children and families.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Pre Kindy program in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
* Prepare children for a smooth transition into Kindergarten
* Work closely with the two permanent educators in the room
* Support families through regular communication and day-to-day engagement
* Plan, document and reflect on children’s learning
* Maintain a safe and welcoming environment
* Follow Centre policies and National Quality Framework requirements
Qualifications & Experience
To be eligible for the Lead Educator role, applicants must hold:
* Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ECT), or
* Be actively working towards an approved ECT qualification
Educators who hold (or are working towards) an approved ECT qualification will be eligible to provide backfill within our funded Kindergarten program in line with Queensland Kindergarten Funding requirements.
Applicants who hold an Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care are encouraged to apply; however, these qualifications will be considered for other positions within the Centre (such as Assistant Educator, Part Time or Casual roles) rather than the Lead Educator position.
Additional Requirements:
* Current Blue Card (QLD Working with Children Check)
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience working in a long day care setting
* Sound understanding of EYLF and National Quality Standards
* Clear and professional communication skills
