Teaching Assistant Role
At the Y, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Ipswich Senior Campus.
About the Role:
* The successful candidate will be working closely with teachers, students, and parents to support learning activities and administrative duties in a supportive school environment.
* Key responsibilities include:
1. Displaying empathy and respect for students with high-level needs and maintaining confidentiality, tact, reliability, and sensitivity when interacting with students and their families.
2. Supervising small groups of students during specific learning activities designed by teachers, while ensuring the teacher is available for assistance if needed.
3. Working collaboratively within the school's philosophy and ethos to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes.
4. Adhering to all policies and procedures related to safeguarding children and young people, including the Safeguarding code of conduct.
5. Conducting reading groups, maths groups, and other activities, gathering relevant resources in cooperation with teachers and aligning with curriculum, syllabi, and educational policies.
Requirements:
* Holding a Cert IV in Education Support or equivalent experience.
* Supporting literacy and numeracy intervention delivery.
* Differentiated teaching plans.
* Resource preparation.
* Data collection and collation to assess student progress.
