We are a well-established AustralianFMCG manufacturer and 3PL group with operations across multiple sites and a growing national footprint.
We support a wide range of customers across the consumer goods and industrial sectors.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking ahands-on, commercially curious Accountant / Finance Manager to join our finance team.
This role is ideal for someone who not only understands the numbers but wants tointerpret what they mean, ask questions, and drive improvement across the business.
This is astandalone position that suits a highly capable, detail-oriented professional who enjoys being close to the numbers, working independently, and partnering directly with the leadership team to drive performance and improvement.
The role also offers aclear pathway into senior management over the next 3–5 years as the business continues to grow.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will be responsible for managing the full financial lifecycle.
From day-to-day accounting and payroll through to cashflow management, compliance, and assisting with board reporting.
The ideal candidate is not content to simply "close the books."
You'll be inquisitive, commercially aware, and confident analysing variances, asking questions, and helping shape business decisions based on sound financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post all journals, accruals, and adjustments across multiple entities.
Maintain the general ledger and manage the full month-end and year-end process.
Prepare accurate monthly management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow.
Reconcile all key accounts including payroll, intercompany, and balance sheet items.
Develop budgets, forecasts, and feasibility models in collaboration with management.
Analyse performance trends and provide clear, actionable commentary to drive decision-making.
Prepare audit schedules and year-end financial statements; coordinate external audits.
Payroll & Compliance
Manage end-to-end payroll for weekly and monthly staff, including superannuation, PAYG, and leave provisions.
Ensure compliance with ATO, Fair Work, and statutory reporting requirements.
Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, and superannuation returns.
Maintain accurate reconciliations of wages, entitlements, and statutory liabilities.
Cashflow & Treasury
Monitor daily cashflow and working capital requirements.
Manage banking relationships and payment approvals.
Oversee debtor and creditor management to ensure healthy cashflow discipline.
Governance & Systems
Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.
Support the Managing Director and Board with financial insights and scenario modelling.
Maintain key relationships with auditors, insurers, IT providers, and other service partners.
Ensure data integrity across financial systems (e.g. NetSuite, Xero, or equivalent ERP).
Business Partnering & Improvement
Work cross-functionally with operations and logistics to understand business drivers.
Identify process inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve accuracy and reporting speed.
Provide ad-hoc analysis, margin reporting, and cost reviews to support strategic decisions.
Support the broader administration of the business, including insurance renewals and general compliance matters.
About You
Strong technical grounding infinancial accounting, payroll, and compliance, confident preparing, not just reviewing.
High attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
A naturally inquisitive mindset, you ask questions, seek to understand, and follow through.
Advanced Excel skills; NetSuite or similar ERP experience highly regarded.
A self-starter who enjoys variety and takes ownership of outcomes.
