About Us Moneycare Program is part of the Community Support Service network of programs and related services which aim to alleviate financial hardship by supporting those who are in hardship due to financial difficulties or crises, by gaining the increased capability to act independently and self-sufficiently.
Primary Purpose Of The Role We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Financial Capability Worker, who will sit under the mentorship of the Financial Counsellor to provide Financial Capability services that help eligible people to build longer-term capability to plan and make informed choices about their money in the future. As a Financial Capability worker, you will learn to deliver non-accredited financial education workshops to eligible people, and you will support eligible people with employment readiness through improving financial knowledge, skills, and capabilities to assist them to achieve employment.
What a Day In The Life Will Look Like Deliver financial education workshops with a strong focus on supporting people to build longer-term capability by developing skills to plan for their financial future Assist community members to access other support services and establish community supports if applicable Respect and value each person by focusing on individual needs, considering all parts of life, building strong relationships, and supporting independence and participation without judgment. Work together with community members to build strong relationships and provide the best service. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and data for all community members in accordance with The Salvation Army standards and procedures. Include community feedback and encourage individual input and participation in team efforts and review processes for continuous quality improvement. What You Will Bring Financial Literacy Education Skill Set or willingness to obtain it is desirable Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language Knowledge of local Aboriginal Communities, Culture, and connection to mob Demonstrated ability to work with people experiencing difficulties and crises Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity A national police record check is required Relevant state Working With Children Check is required Current Driver's licence (if travel is required) Some intrastate travel associated with outreach services may be required Additional Notes This position is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only, as TSA considers that being Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for the position in accordance with the 'Anti-Discrimination Act 1992 s.35(b) (NT).
