Overview
This well established Aboriginal Medical Service in the Kimberley has multiple opportunities for General Practitioners to join their team in the Kutjungka region (Balgo, Billiluna, Mulan).
Supporting the remote clinics within the Kutjungka region you will have the opportunity to work on a Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) basis (working four weeks on, eight weeks off), living in a modern, furnished unit in the Balgo Community, with return flights to your preferred destination within Australia.
The Practice
This is a well-established regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, founded in 1986, which provides centralised advocacy and resource support for six independent member services, as well as providing direct clinical services in a further five remote Aboriginal communities across the region and being the lead agency for headspace Broome since 2008.
This Service has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible comprehensive primary health care services over its 34 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence-based best practice in Aboriginal Health.
The Requirements
* Specialist medical registration with Ahpra
* FRACGP or FACRRM
* Applications are encouraged from both experienced or recently qualified GPs, with significant support structures in place for those who have just finished their vocational training years.
* Previous experience working in remote areas or with Aboriginal communities is not essential, providing you are a strong communicator and team player, willing to work within remote Aboriginal communities and able to provide care to patients in a culturally appropriate manner.
