Base pay range
A$107,370.00/yr - A$124,606.00/yr
Business Analyst (Data)
* Fixed term to 27 Feb 2026, full-time with possibility of extension
* $107,370 to $124,606 per annum (HEO8)
* Plus 17% employer superannuation
* Salary packaging options are available
* 20 days family and domestic violence leave available per annum
* 10 days Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and ceremonial leave per annum
* (Professional Staff) 5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum
* Armidale/Remote role. Flexible or hybrid work arrangements available
* Applicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position)
Current UNE Staff: In taking up this appointment, the appointee will need to seek approval from the Head of Cost Centre to be released from their substantive position for the duration of the secondment.

About the role
As the Business Analyst (Data, Gateway & AI) you will play a critical role in designing and implementing the enterprise data architecture for UNE's AI-enabled admissions service. As a member of the Admissions Tactical Quick Wins project, you will establish data validation frameworks, integration patterns, and quality standards to ensure clean data flows between multiple systems while maintaining TEQSA compliance. You will be responsible for mapping data requirements, designing API integration solutions, and establishing the data pipelines necessary for AI agent development. This role requires close collaboration with technical teams, academic stakeholders, and external partners to ensure data integrity across the admissions ecosystem.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in data architecture design and implementation within complex enterprise environments
* Strong knowledge of API integration patterns, data validation frameworks, and data quality management
* Experience working with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning data requirements and establishing data pipelines for automated systems
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
* Experience with agile methodologies and iterative development approaches
* Knowledge of higher education data structures and student management systems would be highly advantageous
