Aged or Disability Caregiver Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled caregiver to support individuals with disabilities in living independent, empowered lives.
As an Aged or Disability Caregiver, you will provide person-centered support to older people and individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living activities while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence.
Duties
* Assist patients with mobility and communication needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
* Provide personal care services such as showering, dressing, and eating, promoting hygiene and dignity.
* Prepare nutritious meals, perform light housekeeping, and laundry tasks to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
* Support residents with daily activities and encourage social engagement, fostering positive relationships and a sense of community.
* Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for residents, adhering to health and safety protocols.
* Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and the care team, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
* Assist with medication reminders per care plans and basic health monitoring under delegation, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
* Undertake tasks outside the home, such as shopping and organizing travel, to enhance residents' quality of life.
* Observe and report changes in patients' condition and complaints about care, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and support workers to ensure a holistic approach to care, prioritizing individualized support and empowerment.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home & Community or Disability) or higher, or at least one year of relevant experience, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the role.
* 12 months full-time or equivalent part-time employment with proven experience in Aged / Disability Care Services, showcasing ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Previous experience in personal care, disability support, or a similar role is essential, highlighting skills and adaptability.
* A valid Australian driver's license is required, enabling flexibility and independence in job duties.
* Strong interpersonal skills, patient approach, ability to work independently and as part of a team, emphasizing teamwork and cooperation.
* Valid National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and other NDIS entry-level certificates are required, ensuring compliance and trustworthiness.
* First Aid, Manual Handling, and CPR Certificate is required, demonstrating a commitment to resident safety and well-being.
