About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our maintenance team in all matter's mechanical. The ideal candidate will possess strong structural experience, with the ability to confidently oversee and coordinate structural works on building projects. While not required to be a qualified structural engineer, they should demonstrate a solid understanding of structural principles and construction methodologies
About the role:
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, the role is full time and is responsible for:
* Providing technical advice on various maintenance activities and equipment both internally and externally of the department.
* Perform Fault finding/ diagnostic work on predominantly rotating equipment.
* Involvement in the testing, improvement and maintenance of manufacturing processes and infrastructure.
* Drive implementation of improvements assisting with RM & CAPEX works related to maintenance.
* Provide support to the Maintenance planning and scheduling team, as well as using your plant knowledge to predict major maintenance requirements.
* Help manage the site's maintenance statutory obligations.
* Work in conjunction with contractors & vendors when more specialised skills are required.
* Be responsible for the sites mechanical condition monitoring program.
* Manage and provide guidance to a team of approximately 4-5 maintenance and reliability engineers with various levels of experience.
* Undertake other duties as reasonably requested.
* Ensure maintenance employees and external contractors are competent and adhere to WHS practices.
About you:
To be our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will need:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant discipline
* Minimum 10 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience in budget management
* Sound understanding of WHS principles
The following will be highly regarded:
* Demonstrated experience with rotating equipment
* Demonstrated experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
* Demonstrated experience using SAP
* Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis
