About the firm
Our clients' Hornsby office is seeking a suitably experienced Intermediate Accountant to join their large team. This position would suit a qualified professional with proven taxation, leadership, portfolio management, and legislative experience. Coupled with an attractive remuneration and incentive package, work-from-home options, and a pathway to partner with the right person, opportunities like this do not often present.
About the position
* Prepare income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, sole traders, companies and trusts.
* Prepare Business Activity Statements and state tax returns, such as payroll tax and land tax.
* Prepare financial statements and income tax returns to the review stage, including the preparation of detailed working papers
* Researching and consulting on a range of tax issues and drafting tax advice for our managers and partners.
* Liaising with the ATO, OSR, clients, and other professionals to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks.
The ideal candidate
* A degree in accounting from an Australian institution
* Completed or working towards a CA/CPA qualification.
* At least 2+ years of experience in an Australian accounting firm.
* Experience using MYOB AE, Xero and Excel
* Strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation fundamentals
