An 80-year group, COBRA promotes its own efficient business model, the result of the combination of decentralization, geographical diversification and technical specialization of more than 20,000 professionals in more than 43 countries. Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets.

ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C;) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year.

About the Role

The Industry and Employment Advisor supports the facilitation and delivery of programs and training to increase local employment, Aboriginal participation and supply chain and workforce diversity. Working closely with Aboriginal community groups, local training and support service providers, funding bodies and key stakeholders to drive the delivery of outcomes within the Central-West Orana region. The role supports accurate and timely data collection to drive continuous improvement, compliance reporting and case study development. This position will benefit greatly if you are located in the Mudgee project region or are willing to relocate.Key ReponsibilitiesSupports implementation of the Industry and Aboriginal Participation Plan (IAPP) and Training and Skills Management plan (TSMP) and delivery of associated outcomes
Proactively engages with Procurement Teams and Subcontractors to drive supply chain engagement and diversity
Facilitates the delivery of programs to increase Aboriginal participation, supply chain engagement and workforce diversity
Partners with industry to identify employment opportunities and entry level skills requirements
Partner with service providers to develop and implement programs to support local skills development, employment outcomes and culturally appropriate mentoring and support
Establish program evaluation and feedback processes to monitor program effectiveness and outcomes
Provide advice and guidance during the project lifecycle regarding industry engagement and employment programs
Prepare and present accurate information to meet both internal and external reporting criteria per project reporting schedule
Build and develop relationships with Aboriginal communities and key project stakeholders across the Central-West Orana REZ
Build and develop relationships with external training and support providers and assesses effectiveness of the programs delivered
Work with key stakeholders, education providers and RTOs to identify, design, develop, and roll out apprenticeship and traineeship programs
Supports accurate and timely data collection, monthly reporting and case study development
Work with relevant Superintendents, Supervisors and site teams when coordinating industry and engagement programs, ensuring that any activities which are to be carried out on site is carefully planned and can be conducted in a controlled and safe environment.
Criteria for Selection
Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40122 or equivalent
Working knowledge of the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF), training needs analysis and RTO compliance
Minimum 2 years' experience in employment support or vocational training or adult educational management within the construction, infrastructure or energy sectors
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Sound problem-solving and time management skills
Knowledge of vocational education and/or employment support programs and funding
Project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate with cross-functional teams
Cultural competency and sensitivity to the social and cultural dynamics of the workforce
Ability to build and sustain relationships with a network of key people internally and externally
Highly developed computer literacy skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and email
