Cairns Plaza Hotel is seeking a fulltime Front Office Receptionist to join its professional and guest focused front desk team in Cairns. This role suits an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys delivering high quality guest service and thrives in a fast paced hotel environment. About the Role
As a Front Office Receptionist, you will support the hotel's 24hour front desk operation, providing professional and consistent service to guests from arrival through departure. The role primarily operates across day and afternoon shifts, with the ability to perform night audit duties on a rostered basis where required. This is a permanent, ongoing position, supporting the hotel's long term operational needs.
Key Responsibilities Guest check-in and checkout procedures Front desk and hotel reception operations
Reservations management and PMS data entry Responding to guest enquiries and service requests Guest issue resolution and service recovery
Billing, payments, and cash handling Coordination with housekeeping and maintenance teams Accurate shift handovers and front office reporting
Compliance with WHS, cash handling, and hotel policies Skills & Experience Experience in hotel reception, front office, or hospitality customer service
Strong communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and accuracy Confidence using hotel systems / PMS (training provided where required)
Ability to multitask in a busy front desk environment Professional presentation and a team focused approach Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including occasional overnight shifts
What's on Offer Permanent, ongoing fulltime employment (38 hours per week) Salary: $72,000 – $75,000 per annum (excluding superannuation)
