We're seeking an experienced and proactive Leading Hand Cleaner to join our ESS (Defence, Offshore & Remote) business. In this hands‑on leadership role, you'll support the daily cleaning operations while guiding a small team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and service across the base.
As part of the Compass Group, you'll work within a professional, supportive team that values safety, respect and excellence in everything we do.
Responsibilities
* Leading and coordinating day‑to‑day cleaning activities across accommodation, offices and common areas
* Providing hands‑on cleaning support while monitoring quality, safety and service standards
* Ensuring equipment, chemicals and storage areas are maintained and compliant
* Coaching and supporting team members to meet daily schedules and site expectations
* Liaising with supervisors, contractors and Defence stakeholders when required
* Upholding site‑specific hygiene, security and safety procedures
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping or facilities services (leadership experience highly regarded)
* Strong communication skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team
* A commitment to safety, compliance and delivering high service standards
* Reliability, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required
* Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
Australian Citizenship is mandatory for this role
