About the Role:
You will be responsible for preparing, painting, staining, and varnishing wooden vessels to a high standard. The role involves both new builds and restoration projects, requiring precision, patience, and a strong eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Surface preparation including sanding, stripping, and cleaning timber
* Application of marine-grade paints, stains, and varnishes
* Repairing minor timber imperfections prior to finishing
* Maintaining a clean and safe workspace
* Working collaboratively with boatbuilders and other trades
Requirements:
* Proven experience in painting/varnishing, ideally within marine or woodworking industries
* Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and finishing products
* High attention to detail and quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable and safety-conscious
Desirable:
* Experience working on wooden boats or similar timber structures
* Familiarity with marine coatings and finishes
