About the team
You'll join the Advanced Recoveries team within Revenue Services, working collaboratively to reduce arrears and safeguard the City's financial interests. Our team values integrity, transparency, and delivering fair outcomes for the community.
About your new role
As Team Leader, you'll oversee complex legal recovery processes, mentor a team of specialists, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies. You'll manage relationships with external agents, handle escalated cases, and develop strategies to improve recovery outcomes.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Leading and mentoring the Advanced Recoveries team
* Managing sale of land processes for overdue rates
* Ensuring compliance with legislation and council policies
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
* Handling complex negotiations and dispute resolution
* Developing and reviewing debt recovery strategies
We're looking for people who have:
* Knowledge of debt recovery practices and legal procedures, or the ability to learn quickly
* Confidence in interpreting legislation and applying policies accurately
* A proactive approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
* Strong leadership and case management skills
* Expertise in debt recovery and legal processes
* Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and resolve conflicts effectively
