The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable IT professional ready to step into a leadership role with genuine impact in a government role.

You'll be guiding service delivery in a fast-evolving tech environment, shaping a modern IT service management function, and contributing to strategic planning and digital transformation.

This role isn't just about maintaining IT systems — it's about reimagining them. You'll build service catalogues, refine ITIL processes, and improve staff experience through process improvement and automation initiatives.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CIO, this role leads the IT Service Desk and oversees service management operations, including external providers.

You'll lead a team of 3 IT service desk people and deliver Level 2/3 support, manage escalations, and drive improvements across ITIL disciplines such as incident, problem and change management.

You'll also lead ICT procurement and vendor relationships, ensuring value and compliance in service delivery, licensing, and technology partnerships.

Working closely with executives, you'll contribute to strategic IT planning, audit responses, and organisation-wide digital initiatives.

From system modernisation and automation to business system support, infrastructure upgrades, and cyber uplift — this role offers both strategic input and hands-on engagement.

The Ideal Person

You will bring broad IT experience across service desk leadership, ITIL-based service management, infrastructure support, and exposure to project, change, and business management.

You're proactive and collaborative, with a strong ability to bring people together, communicate effectively across all levels, and drive improvements through ITIL, service management, change initiatives, and project delivery.

Experience in cultural, broadcasting, or digital transformation contexts is a bonus.

To be eligible, candidates are required to be Australian citizens.

Salary / Rate

* $112k – $133k + 15.4% Super
