About the Role
Our Paediatricians provide world‐class paediatric services in a rural environment. You will promote patient quality and safety while providing leadership, training, supervision, and education.
The hospital has 10 inpatient beds on the Children's Ward, 4 day‐surgery beds, and 4 Special Care Nursery beds, with approximately 600 births per year.
Specialist medical officers can teach and supervise medical students at three partnered universities.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical paediatric care to patients in the hospital setting.
* Lead multidisciplinary teams and oversee patient safety and quality.
* Supervise and mentor medical students and junior staff.
* Participate in on‐call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time.
* Assist in teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement projects.
* Demonstrate commitment to NSW Health CORE values and MLHD values.
Qualifications
* Unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrician.
* Recent clinical experience in Paediatrics at a comparable service level.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
* Strong clinical communication skills (technical writing, verbal, interpersonal).
* Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
* Willingness to participate in on‐call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
* Commitment to behaviours that align with NSW Health CORE values and MLHD values, goals and strategies.
