The construction arm of a nationally recognised retail organisation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Handyman to join our Queensland-based team. This division manages ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and fit-out projects across the company's retail network. This is a hands-on and varied role ideal for a jack-of-all-trades with a strong practical mindset. The Handyman will carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and light construction or fit-out tasks across multiple retail and warehouse sites throughout Queensland. The position can be offered as a full-time role or structured under your own ABN for greater flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across retail and warehouse sites
* Carry out basic carpentry, painting, plastering, welding, and minor plumbing or electrical tasks (where licensed)
* Assist with new store fit-outs, refurbishments, and layout modifications
* Install shelves, fixtures, and signage as required
* Coordinate and oversee subcontractors on smaller projects
* Maintain tools, vehicles, and ensure work areas meet safety and quality standards
* Provide practical onsite solutions and communicate effectively with internal teams
* Travel across multiple retail and warehouse sites throughout Queensland as required
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Technician, or similar role
* Broad trade knowledge (carpentry, painting, welding, roofing, tiling, or general repairs)
* Strong practical skills and ability to complete varied hands-on tasks
* Physically fit, reliable, and able to work independently
* Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport essential
* Trade qualification (carpentry, joinery, or general maintenance) desirable
* Sound problem-solving ability and attention to detail

* Competitive salary package $85,000 - $100,000 + super (based on skills and experience)
