About the Commission
The Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission is an independent statutory body established by the End‐of‐Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021. The Commission has decision‐making, advisory, monitoring, reporting, investigative, referral, and review functions associated with voluntary assisted dying in Tasmania. It is supported by a small specialist team that works collaboratively with Departmental stakeholders and external partners.
Role Overview
You will support the Commission by providing executive and administrative support to the Manager – VAD Commission, to members of the Commission, and to other senior managers.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‐level executive and administrative support, including scheduling, travel coordination, and document preparation.
* Manage records, prepare documentation, advise on compliance‐related issues, maintain stakeholder relationships.
* Support the development, integration, and maintenance of systems, policies, protocols, and training materials related to record‐keeping and administrative practices.
* Assist with monitoring compliance with the End‐of‐Life Choices Act and related statutory obligations.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience providing executive and administrative support in a complex environment.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with appropriate processes to monitor and follow up on outstanding issues.
* High level of confidentiality, judgment, discretion, and diplomacy.
* Commitment to a child‐safe culture and understanding of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
