The Centre for Learning and Teaching

The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) contributes to the leadership and implementation of strategic teaching and learning and change across the University through collaborative partnerships with Schools and Service Centres. CLT provisions professional learning for all teaching roles in the University to promote evidenced based and scholarly practice.

Additionally, CLT leads the implementation of learning technologies across the University, delivery of learning support programs for students, and active support of Schools to deliver best practice curriculum design and assessment.

About the Opportunity

The Centre for Learning and Teaching is seeking to build its academic development programs to support the implementation of Curriculum Transformation at ECU with two Lecturer, Academic Practice roles focussing on curriculum design and teaching practice. Working closely with the Manager, Academic Practice, as well as colleagues within the team and across CLT, the positions will lead the development and provision of professional learning focussed on evidence-informed, scholarly curriculum design and teaching practice, in the context of programmatic learning. The roles will also contribute to coordination and support of learning and teaching fellowships, awards, and scholarship, working within the current structures to develop and deliver systems, processes and support frameworks for these activities.

About you

Suitable candidates will meet the following capabilities:

A PhD in a relevant discipline and extensive relevant experience, or equivalent;

Substantial experience in academic teaching, curriculum design and pedagogy.

Expert knowledge and skill in the conceptualisation, design and delivery of academic development resources, services and programs.

Expert knowledge of a wide variety of mechanisms and schemes for the promotion of learning and teaching advancement and demonstrated achievement in delivering outcomes.

Demonstrated capacity to problem-solve in fast moving, often changing and demanding situations, to work quickly to develop sophisticated and effective recommendations and plans, and to manage complexity with elegant solutions.

Demonstrated proficiency and experience in working in a multi team environment to achieve seamless services to stakeholders.

Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to engage collegially and effectively with colleagues at all levels of the University, academic and professional, and the ability to negotiate effectively with all stakeholders.

Desirable: Fellowship or Senior Fellowship with Advance Higher Education (F/SFHEA)
