About the role
We are seeking nursing students undertaking pre-registration Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry) studies to work across paediatric and neonatal services. Applicants MUST have successfully completed all 1st year subjects at time of application.
As an Assistant in Nursing, you will assist nurses of different wards and departments with a range of duties associated with daily living activities. You will provide person centred care, contributing to optimal patient outcomes and positive experiences.
Key duties of the role
* Assist nurses in routine tasks with patients/clients
* Performs a range of duties that require basic skills, knowledge, training and experience
* Setting up for nursing procedures, cleaning equipment and managing local stock levels
* Follow established guidelines, protocols, procedure, standards and systems
* Contribute to the maintenance of a physically and culturally safe environment
Skills and Experience
* Be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate or graduate program in nursing (2nd year or above) and have completed any training required by the employer
* Experience, within the boundaries of their education and skill preparation, in the provision of nursing/midwifery care
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
* Ability to provide person-centred care
* Understanding the role of the Assistant in Nursing within the healthcare setting
