We are seeking passionate individuals to fill a Support Worker position. This role involves providing psychosocial support to people living with mental health challenges.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will work in a trauma-informed way to liaise with Support Coordinators and provide capacity-building support as determined by the client's recovery goals.
The focus of work is to support clients to reconnect with their community and improve their mental health and wellbeing and overall quality of life.
This is a permanent full-time position, working weekdays between Monday and Friday, between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
You will be working closely with a team environment, liaising with mental health professionals, housing providers, and other appropriate services to support the client's recovery journey.
This role requires experience in working with clients in a family-inclusive way, ability to engage with individuals within different levels of needs, build and maintain professional relationships, work independently, and contribute to the functioning of the team.
Apart from the above experience, we are looking for:
* Completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification in Mental Health (Certificate II/III), and/or relevant work experience.
* Ability to model positive behaviors, emotional maturity, coping skills, and resilience.
* Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
* Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
* Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values, and guiding principles of the organisation.
* Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender, and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
Salary and Benefits
This role comes with a salary aligned with Level 2 of the relevant Enterprise Agreement, starting at $66,230.
