The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly capable Senior AI-Augmented Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale the next generation of Leaselab's technology platform.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who uses AI as a force multiplier to rapidly build, review, and operationalise software systems without compromising engineering quality.
You will work across software engineering, system architecture, infrastructure, deployment workflows, and AI-assisted development, taking ownership of technical delivery from planning through to production.
This is a high-autonomy role suited to someone who can independently solve complex technical challenges while collaborating closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable production-ready systems.
Key Responsibilities
Build features and systems using AI‐assisted development workflows including Cursor, copilots, agents, and LLM tooling.
Review, validate, and productionise AI-generated code.
Identify architectural, security, scalability, and logic issues within generated outputs.
Create repeatable AI workflows that improve engineering velocity and consistency.
Maintain high engineering quality while delivering rapidly.
Technical Architecture & Systems Design
Design scalable backend systems and application architecture.
Make informed technical decisions balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
Structure systems to support reliable AI-assisted development practices.
Evaluate and improve existing architecture, workflows, and operational processes.
Ensure systems remain maintainable as complexity grows.
Infrastructure & Deployment
Build and manage AWS infrastructure using SST and Infrastructure as Code principles.
Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows across multiple environments.
Improve deployment reliability, rollback safety, and operational visibility.
Implement monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
Support secure, scalable, and resilient production infrastructure.
Product & Technical Scoping
Translate business requirements into detailed technical scopes and implementation plans.
Break down complex initiatives into actionable deliverables.
Identify technical risks, edge cases, and operational considerations early.
Collaborate with stakeholders to shape practical and scalable technical solutions.
Produce clear technical documentation and implementation specifications.
Engineering Quality & Ownership
Review pull requests and AI-generated code with strong attention to detail.
Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and platform consistency.
Take ownership of features from planning through deployment and operational support.
Improve engineering processes, tooling, and development workflows.
Contribute to a culture of accountability, pragmatism, and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
Strong experience with TypeScript.
Experience building and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of SST (Serverless Stack).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
Backend and API development experience.
CI/CD pipeline management and deployment workflows.
Git workflows and code review practices.
Automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
Experience using AI-assisted development tooling in production environments.
Experience with Cursor or similar AI-native development environments.
Building agentic workflows or automation systems.
Event-driven and serverless architectures.
Monitoring and observability tooling.
Async processing and distributed systems.
Workflow optimisation and developer tooling.
