Join our dynamic team as a Gardener in our Tree Maintenance Team

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Gardener to join our Tree Maintenance Team in delivering a high level of presentation for the City's parks, gardens, reserves, sportsgrounds, streetscapes, and roadsides.
* Remuneration of $2,116.86 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,540.23 gross per fortnight + superannuation (11.5%).
* Access to Council's nine (9) day fortnight arrangement.

Your new role:
As a Gardener, within our tree maintenance team you will be responsible for working collaboratively within the Parks & Strategic Operations Team to deliver high-level presentation for the City's sports grounds, parks, gardens, reserves, streetscapes, and roadsides.
Duties of the position include but are not limited:
* Undertake a wide range of gardening duties, including the establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns, planting, pruning, mowing, tree maintenance, whipper snipping, weeding, irrigation, soil and sediment control, rehabilitation works, chemical application, pest/disease control, maintenance of facilities, rubbish removal, traffic/pedestrian management, fencing, concreting, paving, and site safety and security.
* Collaborate with team members to develop and implement effective gardening and tree care plans, including maintenance schedules and rehabilitation projects.
* Maintain a strong focus on safety, following proper protocols and utilising appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
What you will need to succeed:
We are looking for someone with:
* A Class C Drivers Licence and a General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) (Essential).
* Hold or willing to obtain qualifications relevant to the role i.e. SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Cards – Traffic Controller (TCR) and Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP), Certificate of Competency - Chainsaw Trim and Cut Felled Trees, Trim Trees using a Polesaw and AQF Level 3 Chemical Accreditation (Desirable).
* Previous experience as a Gardener, preferably with a focus on tree maintenance, arboriculture, and general gardening.
* Have strong customer service skills, including effective communication and problem-solving.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this .
