We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Assistant Branch Manager to support day-to-day operations, help lead a small team, and ensure the smooth delivery and return of our vehicles. You’ll work closely with the Branch Manager, provide hands-on support, and ensure every customer and partner receives outstanding service.

About Compass

Since 2001, Compass has been the market leader in accident replacement vehicles. Our mission is simple: Reduce the Inconvenience for customers, clients, and each other. We achieve this through genuine care, teamwork, and a commitment to doing things better.

We live our values every day:

• Care & Passion – to deliver outstanding service the way we’d want to be treated

• Courage – to be empowered and make informed decisions

• Can Do – a proactive mindset focused on solving problems and improving

• Trust – to be counted on to do the right thing in all relationships

Key Responsibilities

As the Assistant Branch Manager, your core focus is to ensure the smooth delivery and retrieval of vehicles for customers — meeting both Compass’s standards and customer expectations. This includes strategic logistical planning, resolving unforeseen issues quickly, and maintaining exceptional customer service.

You’ll also:

• Lead day-to-day branch operations to ensure a smooth, high-quality experience for customers and partners

• Support and mentor the team, creating a positive and productive work environment

• Collaborate with the Branch Manager to drive performance and contribute to branch success

• Handle customer enquiries and resolve escalations promptly and professionally

• Ensure all operations align with Compass policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements

• Contribute to growth strategies by helping develop innovative approaches to service delivery

• Optimise inventory, budgets, and resources for maximum efficiency

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience in an assistant manager, coordinator, or team lead role (preferred)

• At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role

• Strong communication, leadership, and people skills

• Ability to manage time, adapt to change, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment

• Confidence using computers, systems, and reporting tools

• Detail-oriented and focused on operational excellence

• A current Australian driver’s licence (a motorbike licence is a bonus but not essential)

Why Join Compass

Working at Compass means being part of a supportive team where your contribution is valued, and your development is supported. You’ll also enjoy a range of benefits, including:

• Career development – many of our team members have progressed into senior roles across the business

• 12 weeks paid parental leave

• Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – confidential support when you need it

• Make a Difference Leave – one paid day per year to support a community cause

• Learning and development days to support your growth

• Free hire car days – take advantage of our fleet when going on holiday
