VISNA T MANAGEMENT PTY LTD is currently seeking a dedicated and hands-on Nurseryperson to join our team at one of our commercial nursery locations across regional Victoria.

As a Nurseryperson, you will be responsible for the propagation, care, and preparation of plants for distribution. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and passionate about horticulture, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.

Skill Requirements

This position requires a level of skill typically gained through:

* A Certificate IV in horticulture or a related field,

* Or A Certificate III in horticulture or a related field with two years of relevant on-the-job experience.

* At least three years of experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
* Preparing potting media and containers prior to planting

* Selecting seeds, bulbs, and cuttings and planting them in beds, lawn areas, tubs, or containers

* Budding and grafting vegetative material onto rootstock for propagation

* Watering plants manually and managing automatic irrigation systems

* Applying pesticides, herbicides, and nutrients to prevent or treat pests, diseases, and environmental disorders

* Keeping accurate records of soil mixtures, plantings, treatments, losses, and yields

* Selecting and packaging plants for sale, delivery, or distribution

* Advising customers on plant care, maintenance, and suitable species for local conditions

* (Optional) Assisting in planning sales area layouts and visual merchandising presentations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A strong work ethic and a passion for plant care and propagation

* The ability to work independently and follow detailed horticultural procedures

* Good physical fitness, with the ability to carry out manual labour and outdoor work

* High attention to detail, particularly when monitoring plant health and pest control

* Good communication and customer service skills

* Previous nursery or horticultural experience (preferred but not essential)
