Purpose of Position:
To work within Council's customer service department including in the areas of general enquiries both over the phone and at the front counter.
Key Responsibilities:
· Rates enquiries
· Planning and community development enquiries
· Assets and infrastructure enquiries
· Receipting and cash handling
· Halls and facilities bookings
· Cemetery enquiries and processing applications
· Property sales transfers
· Records requests and enquiries
· Daily mail and banking
· Processing the following:
Planning Certificates
Outstanding Rates and Charges Certificates
Change of postal address applications
Essential:
· High school education or equivalent and / or extensive experience in a relevant field
· Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills
· Proven customer service experience
· Extensive knowledge of general office procedures
· Accurate keyboard skills
· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety and an ability to apply them to work practices
Desirable:
· Local government experience
· Knowledge of governance systems
