The Department of Housing & Public Works is responsible for the successful delivery of key capital programs on behalf of the Queensland Government, across a range of asset classes including: housing, health, education, corrections, arts, sports & tourism. The department works closely with the private sector to deliver well-designed, functional solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing the state.
As the Project Director, you will utilise your professional leadership and management capabilities to deliver projects on schedule and budget, in accordance with statutory responsibilities, government priorities, funding agreements with project partners, and departmental policies and procedures. The role requires an ability to manage the delivery of complex capital works programs that deliver positive economic and social outcomes and provide solutions for government projects from feasibility and business case through to final project delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities: Lead the delivery of capital programs from procurement through to post-occupancy evaluation. Effective project management ensuring achievement of key performance metrics (time/cost/quality). Develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring community & stakeholder objectives (job creation/safe living spaces etc.) are supported by the delivery teams. People leadership & development – ensuring your teams are motivated and supported to achieve key deliverables. Collaborate effectively across government to maximise benefits for Queensland.
