The scope of this role is to maintain and improve the quality and safety processes for food and industrial products across Australasia. Key accountabilities include (but are not limited to):
Responsibilities:
1. Understanding food and industrial product quality and safety practices and processes across the area, including:
2. Laboratory testing methods
3. Product specification and safety data documentation
4. Good warehousing and transportation practices
5. Traceability and quarantine procedures
6. Handling complaints and nonconformity reporting
7. Implementing corrective actions
8. Assisting with:
9. Process mapping
10. Writing and implementing plans and procedures
11. Conducting audits and inspections
12. Managing product regulatory, specification, and safety data documentation
13. Coordinating laboratory equipment calibration and servicing
14. Ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP, FAMIQS, Organic Certification, and other standards
15. Managing quarantine and recall of nonconforming products
16. Ensuring accuracy and quality of documents and reports, and their timely application
17. Monitoring and evaluating performance in areas such as:
18. Customer complaints
19. In-process and production quality (e.g., CPK of internally produced products)
20. Sampling plans and both internal/external testing
21. Product holds, traceability, and recall testing
22. Warehousing and transportation services
23. Providing information, instructions, and training to management and staff
24. Analyzing and reporting on key metrics, performance indicators, and trends
25. Following up on nonconformities and corrective actions, and informing stakeholders
26. Supporting customer service and sales by:
27. Completing questionnaires and reviews promptly
28. Providing accurate and current advice/information
29. Ensuring traceability of submitted records and documents
30. Overseeing regulatory and compliance matters, including:
31. Maintaining current and compliant safety data sheets, product specifications, and regulatory documentation
32. Achieving product certification and compliance efficiently
33. Coordinating with relevant Omya personnel locally and globally
34. Managing Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) responsibilities, such as:
35. Supporting SUS colleagues as needed
36. Developing knowledge of SHE policies, regulations, and procedures
37. Assisting with investigations and nonconformity rectification
38. Supporting audits and maintaining the Integrated Management System per ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 standards
39. Other duties, including:
* Conducting benchmarking exercises for industry best practices
* Contributing to a positive workplace culture aligned with Omya Values (Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance)
* Taking immediate action to control environmental, health, safety, and quality risks
* Participating in cross-functional duties, including SAP tasks related to production and maintenance
